Brownsboro Road Diet Comments
c/o Metro Public Works and Assets
444 S. Fifth St., Ste. 400
Louisville, Ky. 40202

To whom it may concern:

Please accept this letter in support of the plan by Metro Public Works and Assets to modify a portion of U.S. 42 (Brownsboro Road) between Ewing Avenue and Pope Street in Louisville to improve neighborhood, driver, and pedestrian safety.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District believes the result will be a neighborhood that is safer and more appealing to pedestrians and cyclists. “Road diet” projects such as this one complement APCD’s efforts to encourage motorists to leave their cars at home and walk or cycle to their destination, which in turn reduces harmful tailpipe emissions and makes our air cleaner and safer.

Furthermore, APCD strongly urges Metro Public Works and Assets to identify other local thoroughfares that are suitable for a “road diet,” and we offer our assistance in that process.

Sincerely,

Lauren Anderson
